What is the treatment for Retained Placenta?

Removing the entire placenta or any missing parts of the placenta by use of medications to relax or contract the uterus, or manually remove by inserting hands, empty the bladder, change position and gently pull umbilical cord massaging the abdomen,  breast-feeding etc can help the body in releasing hormones that make the uterus to contract and helps in expulsion. If none of the treatments succeeds, the healthcare provider will perform emergency surgery to remove the pieces of the placenta.
