What complications can occur in the case of Placental insufficiency?

Mothers with hypertension or diabetes are at greater risk for placental insufficiency and also experience preeclampsia, placental abruption, preterm labour and delivery. Whereas the baby suffers severe problems depending on the type of placental insufficiency. The baby’s risks include oxygen deprivation at birth, learning disabilities, hypothermia, hypoglycemia, hypocalcemia, stillbirth or even death.
