 The following classes are associated with complete or central separation.

  • Class 2: Moderate
  • Absence to moderate amount of bleeding
  • Tenderness of the uterus with sustained contraction 
  • Maternal tachycardia, orthostatic changes in blood pressure
  • Fetal distress
  • Hypofibrinogenemia
  • Class 3: Severe
  • Absence or heavy vaginal bleeding
  • Tetanic contractions of the uterus
