The detachment of the placenta from the uterine attachment begins from the center, which further leads to the opening of a few uterine sinuses along with accumulation of the blood behind the placenta. This detachment increases with increased uterine contractions and is facilitated by the accumulation of blood and also by the weight of the placenta.
