Cardiff “count 10” formula

It is a test to assess fetal well-being in the intrauterine period. The expectant mother is asked to count the fetal movements during her day-to-day activities. The mother has to stop counting once the fetal movement count reaches 10. She is advised to report to the physician if, < 10 movements occur during a 12-hour period on 2 successive days or no movement is perceived even after 12 hours in a single day.
